Low Baller of the week

We’re going international. Helix is offering MXN$36k/month or USD$1.8k/month for a Software Engineer, recent grad position. Not good. Even for early career positions companies should offer market rates to keep top talent. According to Glassdoor, the range for a role like this is MX$31K - MX$66K. They like to kiss the floor.

Given that US and EU salaries are substantially higher, by 5 to 10x, you are better off spending more time on securing one of those roles for this skillset. Keep searching my friends.

Big Baller of the week

Our Big Baller is SpaceX! Move to Bastrop, TX and you can get a whopping 270k for as a Principal Wi-Fi Software Engineer. For the seniority its a bit low, but the cost of living in Bastrop is much lower than the costal counterparts.

I’ve lived in Texas for a few years, and one thing is for sure: you can buy a big house on a huge plot of land such a salary. Stop at the nearest Buc-ees, grab your cowboy hat, and celebrate your new role. Yeehaw!
